Barry E. Jackson is a production designer and author with a variety of
experiences, taking him from project to project. Although he was born
in Omaha, he was raised in Lompoc California. His most notable credits
include films such as *The Prince of Egypt*, *Nightmare Before Christmas*,
and *Shrek*.

Jackson worked on the animated Lord of the Rings movies in the 70s
and 80s at Backstreet Productions then moved on as a freelance
illustrator, creating movie posters and advertisements. From 1987 to 1991
Jackson moved to New York designing Record album covers and magazine
articles eventually moving back to California for animation. He became an
animatic director for Electronic Arts for projects such as *Ant Bully*.
Currently he is doing development work at Blue Sky and has recently
contributed to creating the titles for *Oz, the Great and Powerful*.
Jackson has also written his own children’s book titled, “Danny
Diamondback”.

Barry Jackson has very open personality, choosing his words carefully
and through his tone of voice is evident that he has done a lot
through his career. When we talked on the phone he was very accommodating
despite the limited time he had.

His children’s book is currently being auctioned to be made into a
film, with him writing a script or screenplay or developing a storyboard.
