Anecdotes:

Miscellaneous:

Comments from Alain Costa: I remember James came directly from school .
I think this must have been his first job. He showed a test he had done
with Thumper from Bambi and Andreas Deja was delighted to see it. He knew
right away that James was born to be a great animator. I think James was
18 at that time . He had a really strong sense of movement and did some
amazing scenes in the film.

Comments from Nik Nanieri: We're friends but I don't see him all that much.
We meet at events, etc. and we catch up but we don't hang out on a
regular basis. We both started at Disney, Los Angeles at the same time
(1988). He was and continues to be one of the best animators I've
ever known. Um, When we first got into LA for our interview at Disney,
we had to drive from LAX to Andreas Deja's house (where we were staying)
and it was late at night. James drove because I just relearned how to
drive and was uncomfortable on the freeway. We got lost so James
pulled off the freeway and started driving down a side street. He
was flustered because we were lost and when we saw the headlights
of a track coming towards us, we realized that James went into British
mode and was driving on the wrong side of the road. We swerved to
the right side of the road and pulled over. After we checked the map, we
were fine and got to our destination safely.
